As part of the day’s activities, the gathering was honored to host a panel of key leaders from various government and institutional bodies, including officers from the District Local Government, representatives from the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB), and officials from the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA). Their presence brought valuable guidance, clarity, and direction to all organizations in attendance, including Learnwell Initiative.
Seated at the front, the guest officials provided detailed insights into compliance, legal registration, taxation, and organisational accountability. They emphasized the importance of proper documentation, transparency in operations, and adherence to national frameworks governing NGOs and community-based organizations.
The District officials highlighted the role of organisations in complementing government efforts, especially in areas such as education, youth empowerment, and community support. URSB representatives guided participants on the importance of formal registration, record keeping, and protecting organisational identity. URA officials addressed matters related to taxation, TIN registration, and understanding the responsibilities of non-profit entities under national tax laws.
Participants listened keenly, taking notes as the panel explained how organisations can strengthen their structures, improve service delivery, and operate more effectively within Uganda’s regulatory environment. The session created a bridge between organisations and government institutions—promoting collaboration, openness, and shared responsibility for community development.
